Ethiopia has since June 2017 been issuing e-visa to save time, energy and cost for visitors to the horn of Africa country.
The e-visa is processed and issued online on a single web page where applicants apply, pay and secure their entry visa online.
Once the application is approved, applicants receive an email authorising them to travel to Ethiopia and they will get their passport stamped with the visa upon arrival in the capital, Addis Ababa.
This is the initiative of Ethiopian government’s Immigration and Nationality Affairs in collaboration with Ethiopian Airlines (ET) that have since June 12, 2017 set up separate counters to process the visas of travelers under electronic travel authorisation.
Meanwhile, Emirates Airlines of Dubai has introduced discounted fares for passengers travelling with companions.
How does it work?
The discount applies to two or more persons travelling together to their destination.
“For the special companion discount to apply,” Emirates says, “you require a minimum of two and a maximum of eight passengers. This special fares must also be purchased by 26 August 2017 and will be valid for travel until 31 December 2017.”
The airline further says that it is spoiling any passenger who flies “Emirates to Dubai in Economy (US$455) or in Business (US$ 1055) classes between 11 July 2017 and 30 November 2017 with an All-Inclusive fare that covers “Free 30-Day Visa, Generous three-piece baggage and My Emirates Pass which offers you great discounts at top restaurants, clubs and attractions in Dubai.”
Emirates says entry “visa application must be made within seven days of ticket purchase by visiting Emirates Office.”
