An art exhibition examining issues like independence, self-governance, sovereignty and culture in African countries through the people that have shaped the mother continent over the past 50 years opens at Nairobi National Museum on August 1, 2014.
“The dominating expressionist style by Arthur Patrick Odhiambo makes you feel the struggles, triumphs and resilience of the country, the continent and its people,” a media statement from NNM says of the 31-day show that shall be held in NNM’s Creativity Gallery, 8.30am-5.30pm daily.
Tickets to this exhibition of the ‘legends past and present’ are Sh200 (adults) and Sh100 (children), respectively.
Saying the exhibition allows the art lover ‘to feel the soul of Africa’, NNM says artist Odhiambo “captures Africa’s cultural diversity and brilliantly marries it to contemporary visuals of the new age.”
