The findings of a recent survey by Hotel Reservation Service (HRS) show that children are welcome in hotel pools but not in spas.
More than half of the hotel guests feel disturbed when children are allowed to share spa or sauna with adults. Only baround 7% claim that children make the atmosphere in the spa more alive.
Even hotel guests who have their own children prefer to be in certain areas of the hotel without their children.
While a quarter of respondents claim that children under 5 years of age are very disturbing in a hotel bar, about 37% like having their massage or sauna without the company of children.
More than a quarter of parents whose children are aged 6-12 years feel uncomfortable in a hotel bar with small children around and half of them cannot stand them in wellness areas.
Almost half of the parents whose children are teenagers or older feel bothered by small children in a bar and more than half of them cannot stand children in wellness areas.
Almost three quarters of the hotel guests who have no children do not want to meet them in the spa and every second of them in a bar.
The guests however do not mind children so much in the lobby, corridors and the hotel restaurant.
Almost a quarter of guests do not feel bothered by children while eating, 30% of them do not mind children at all and one in ten thinks it is great there are children in restaurants.
Some 37% of guests claim that they cannot enjoy their meal when there are children running around.
All guests are more tolerant when it comes to children running and screaming in the hotel lobby or corridors.
Only 6% of respondents do not mind small children staying in the adjacent hotel room.
Three percent of people aged more than 60 are not bothered by children at all. On the other hand, more than half of the respondents who are 50 and older and 36% of people aged between 30 and 49 feel disturbed by children when staying in the neighboring room. About 30% of people under the age of 30 expressed similar opinion. Then on average, half of the guests do not like staying in a room next to a family with small children.
