afriff in dubaiDirectors of Nigeria-based Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) are attending Dubai International Film Festival meet international film stakeholders and explore partnerships for the international propagation of the festival.

“Our intention is to constantly improve standards for AFRIFF and provide the best services and atmosphere for films and filmmakers at all times. We are delighted to be in Dubai, to meet and continue our international interaction with other festivals,” says Chioma Ude, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of AFRIFF.

“We are here in Dubai to continue the incredible journey in preparation for the next edition of AFRIFF, inviting filmmakers to submit their films, meeting and welcoming delegates to participate and contribute in many other events relating to the further development of what has become an exciting new cinema,” AFRIFF Artistic Director Keith Shiri says.

Masoud Amralla Al Alli, the DIFF Artistic Director, says, “I can see similarities between AFRIFF and DIFF. I hope our discussions will lead to synergies and a great partnership.”

The AFRIFF team in Dubai comprises CEO Chioma Ude, Project Director Afie Braimoh, Artistic Director Keith Shiri and AFRIFF Advisor Balufu Bakupa-Kanyinda.

The third edition of AFRIFF–November 10 – 17, 2013–was held in its new home, Tinapa Business and Leisure Resort in Calabar, Cross River State. It was supported by Cross River State Government and the United Bank of Africa (UBA).
