Very Very Important Persons (VVIPs) have on July 11, 2015 congregated at Nairobi’s Carnivore grounds for THE festival.
Held on the theme, “You Only Live Once; Live Well”, the event, dubbed The Luo Festival, runs from 12.00 noon (July 11) till dawn (July 12) and has some of the leading pop culture performers of Luo origin: Suzanna Owiyo, Erick Omondi, Jalang’o, Wibroda, Makademand, Dola Kabarri, among others.
Gate charges for the day-long event that is presented by Arena Media in collaboration with Ramogi FM are Sh2000 for VVIPs (and I should stop here for every Luo is a VVIP!) and Sh1000 for VIPs (Others, Yawa!).
Coming hot on the heels of THE Festival on July 12, 2015 at 3.00PM is an album launch-cum concert to mark 10th Anniversary of musician Daddy Owen. Entry charges—inclusive of a copy of the album—are Sh2000 (VIP) and Sh1000 (Others!).
Not to be forgotten is Sound Splash, a Sauti Academy graduation concert that runs at Alliance Francaise in the Nairobi CBD on July 11, 2015 from 7.00PM. Charges are Sh1000 per head.
And while we are at it, let’s not forget to include art exhibitions on our weekend entertainment menu. Enjoy Responsibly. Yes, that’s the title of the art exhibition on substance abuse awareness that is running at Kuona Trust in Hurlingham till July 19, 2015.
“All things are poison and nothing is without poison; only the dose makes a thing not a poison,” so observed Paracelsus, a 15th Century Swiss German Renaissance scientist.
Alright; let’s have our weekend’s full dose—in moderation—of entertainment, shall we?
