“Seychelles’s Ocean Festival will be the ideal marketing tool for the Seychelles to showcase not only its underwater world attractions, but it will also encourage more facilities that are available to make everyone enjoy a day out on the islands’ turquoise blue seas to be also involved in this annual celebration. The Seychelles’s Ocean Festival will now become a marriage between the blue economy and Seychelles tourism,” said Tourism and Culture Minister Alain St.Ange during the closing ceremony of SUBIOS, the Seychelles Festival of the Sea 2014 at Beau Vallon.

The 2015 Seychelles’ Ocean Festival will bring back the underwater film and image festival. It will showcase interesting synergies between Seychelles and the niche international festival, and it will look at many more water-based activities.
Though SUBIOS that has been staged in Seychelles every November over the past 24 years is re-branding, Sherin Naiken, the chief executive officer of the Seychelles Tourism Board said it will remain “a ‘teacher’ of our marine world to the younger generation.”
In her address, Sherin Naiken stated that SUBIOS had earned a well-deserved place in the hearts of the Seychellois over two decades and that her board would do everything in its power to inject fresh ideas into its being.

She described SUBIOS as the time for visitors and locals alike to enjoy the wealth of underwater treasures through their five senses.
Speaking at the launch, Minister St.Ange said the mission of SUBIOS when it started 24 years ago was to get Seychelles to appreciate what it has in its marine environment.
The initiative to revamp SUBIOS is to keep attaining this mission, the Minister added.
“Let us ensure our visitors see this unique underwater setting that we have, and let us keep it clean for our future generations,” he said.
During the ceremony, the delegates of the tourism ministers of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) were presented with a book on the underwater treasures.

Guests at the launch had the chance to view an exhibition depicting the evolution of SUBIOS over the last 24 years.
Voilà donc un bon document, bien passionnant. J’ai beaucoup aimé et aussi n’hésiterai pas à le recommander, c’est pas mal du tout !
