Africa in Motion (AiM) Scotland African Film Festival of Edinburgh invites Nigerian filmmakers to submit their latest films for consideration for an all-expenses paid trip to the United Kingdom to show their work to audiences in Scotland.

“We are inviting young Nollywood film directors between the ages of 18 and 35 to submit their films to Africa in Motion, along with an application explaining how the filmmaker can contribute to discussions in Scotland, and why their film should be shown to audiences in the UK,” AiM says in a media release. “A member of the Africa in Motion team alongside a jury of high profile film practitioners based in the UK will select the Nollywood filmmakers who will take part. The winning participants will be invited to attend Africa in Motion 2015, and the festival will cover the costs of their international travel, visas, accommodation and hospitality during their time in Scotland.”
Besides having their films screened to audiences in Scotland, the two chosen Nollywood filmmakers will have the opportunity meet leading industry professionals in the Scottish film industry, take part in roundtable discussions about independent filmmaking, and be introduced to young Scottish filmmakers, Aim, whose festival is scheduled for October 23 – November 1, 2015, says.

Aim says it is hosting a Nigerian-Scottish Film Odyssey that shall “explore the similarities and differences between independent filmmaking in both Scotland and Nigeria, with a view to creating lasting partnerships between the two industries.”
The Nigerian-Scottish Film Odyssey programme is supported by the British Council.
