Ally Rehmtullah became the first East African fashion designer to showcase his 7-piece collections at London Fashion Week (September 14-19, 2008).
Rehmtullah, 22, not only showcased his new exclusive African Couture collection at the Museum of London on September 19 but also had the opportunity to participate in Fashion Diversity, a high profiled platform for teaching, training, showcasing and promoting talented designers and models. Fashion Diversity is said to be London Fashion Week’s platform for the rising stars of fashion.
In a release sent out to the media, Bhavna Pandya says Rehmtullah’s “collection of seven beautifully designed outfits reminded us of the vibrant colours of Africa. Orange, Red, and Yellow “It’s what the new season is all about, bright bold colours.”
