Kenya Airways, that has been flying passengers for more than 30 years, plans to launch new destinations in Africa, Middle and Far East every month.

The airline currently flies more than two million passengers to 50 destinations in 39 countries in Africa and beyond every year. The airline, whose motto is The Pride of Africa, projects that they will fly more than three million passengers around the world every year. This may not be far-fetched as statistics provided by the International Airlines Transport Association (I.A.T.A) show that the number of passengers rose by 8% globally in 2010. Indeed, Kenya Airways recorded a 35% increase in passenger numbers on their domestic routes in the last quarter of 2010.

It is in line with catering for the increasing demand of passengers that Kenya Airways plans to launch new destinations. For instance, the airline that is popularly known as KQ from its airline code, is expected to introduce flights on the Nairobi-Abuja route in July 2011. This route will ensure that passengers travelling from the Nigerian political capital by Kenya Airways will no longer need to travel to the Lagos commercial capital to board their flights.
