chikaAndrea Chika Chukwu, a Nigerian actress, singer and talk show host, has released her second single and first video as a follow up to Rocking my Freedom, her first single that was released in 2011. This is also a prelude to her debut music album,’Live Love Leap’.

What is ‘Live Love Leap’ about?

“‘Live Love Leap’ is generally about the meaning of each of the word in the title,” she says.

“My foray into the entertainment industry started when, as a little girl, I participated in a “BEKKS” biscuit advert, acting in school plays, and miming Mariah Carey songs under the name “Andrave” while pursuing my Advanced Level studies,” says Chika Chukwu who continues to take on roles and “characters” that endear her to her fans as seen with the latest films she has featured in: Kunle Afolayan’s PHONE SWAP, Mildred Okwo’s THE MEETING, Omoni Oboli’s BEING MRS ELLIOTT, and Uche Jombo’s UNCONDITIONAL.

chika chukwu online video launchThe singer who says she holds a degree in Education from England says her career in showbiz proper “started with making soundtracks for Nigerian movies, singing in a band with the late Sammy Needle and Eedris Albukareem” just before “Nollywood came calling in 1997 via music.”

Chika is best known for her longest TV starring character, Jumoke Fuji, in the family sitcom, Fuji House Of Commotion.

“I used to host SoulToSoul on SuperScreenTV Lagos and then ADA (A Daughter of Africa) which was shown on Africa Magic,” she says when asked which talk shows she hosts. “Now I host a show called Hand On Entertainment.”
