The inaugural Mashariki African Film Festival (MAAFF), to be held 07-13.03.15 in Kigali, is working in collaboration with East African Film Network (EAFN), East African Community (EAC) and German Development Agency (GIZ), shall train participants from Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and Tanzania in what it terms as intermediate level master class in sound production.
Participants, the organisers say, shall be selected from among the applicants who send in their letter of Introduction, Curriculum Vitae, Motivation and 1000-word Essay on their Vision of a united East Africa by 30.01.15.

MAAFF is also calling upon citizens of the East African Community to enter their full length and short films for its EAC Competition. Only films made in 2013 and 2014 are eligible. Copies of such films are to be sent to the EAFN Country Representative of the country in which one resides: Burundi (Papy Jamaica, Burundi Cinema Centre, Bujumbura); Kenya (Ogova Ondego, Lola Kenya Screen, Nairobi); Rwanda (Bintresor Senga, MAAFF, Kigali); Tanzania (Mary Birdi, Arusha African Film Festival, Arusha); and Uganda (Phad Mutumba, Nile’s Diaspora International Film Festival).
