V., a cultural association based in the German capital, Berlin and that promotes international talents of various disciplines–artists, curators, designers, composers, architects, performers–is inviting applications for its Forecast 2015/2016 mentorship platform from creative talents based in any part of the world.

“We want to invite talents to participate at our Forum and Festival at Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin, which will take place in August 2015 and in February 2016. Here, renowned mentors like the curator Catherine David or the architect Jürgen Mayer H. will promote the participants and help them showcase their project for an international audience. The Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media as well as the Goethe Institute support Forecast,” says Freo Majer, Artistic Director of Forecast.

Another opportunity for artists in Germany is the Berlinale Residency 2015/2016 programme that invites Writer/Director teams from around the world to apply for consideration by March 16, 2015.

To be supported are writer/director teams from around the world “who have already enjoyed their first festival and cinema successes, in developing their new fiction, documentary film or cross-media projects.”

The three-month Berlinale Residency programme will take place from September 1 to November 30, 2015.

Durban FilmMart 2015!On its part, an organisation called Cultures of Resistance Movement, is inviting Students from Conflict Zones to apply for its scholarship at University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies.

The scholarship is designed to give a chance to students from war-torn countries to study for a Masters degree at the University of London, SOAS. Through this program, we hope to allow students who have been affected by civil wars and foreign military occupation to return to their home countries in the future as leaders in the fight for human rights and the promotion of grassroots democracy.
