In a letter of acknowledgement signed by Silverse Anami, the Director of Culture in the Ministry of National Heritage and Culture, says ArtMatters.Info plays an “invaluable contribution in ‘disseminating information’ and creating an essential ‘bridge between the arts, culture, media and development agencies.”

Anami says “The linkages ArtMatters.Info has created . . . have enhanced ‘inclusive participation’ in the ‘development of arts and culture’ as a ‘fundamental resource for sustainable development’.”

Consequently, the Directorate of Culture encourages “artists, ‘cultural practitioners’, ‘policymakers‬. and development agencies’ to visit ArtMattersInfo . . .to experience the viability of this network and share its ‘diversity and vision’.”

The Nairobi-based ArtMatters.Info was founded in 2002 to document and highlight good practice in Anglophone Kenya and East Africa’s culture and the arts sector.
