A film market that facilitates project collaboration among Africans has selected 19 projects for its 7th annual edition.
Durban FilmMart (DFM), the initiative of Durban Film Office (DFO) in collaboration with Durban International Film Festival (DIFF), has fiction and documentary feature film projects from South Africa, Zimbabwe, Madagascar, Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, Tunisia and Egypt.
The 19 projects shall be presented in one-on-one meetings with potential investors and co-producers in the Finance Forum during DIFF in KwaZulu-Natal Province’s Durban City, South Africa, June 16-26, 2016. DFM runs June 17-20, 2016.
“We are delighted with the range of projects and countries represented at this year’s DFM,” says Toni Monty, who heads DFO. “We look forward to welcoming and engaging with these filmmakers, and being a facilitator and catalyst for the development of their films. That past DFM projects have been selected for the Durban International Film Festival this year, as in previous years, is testimony to the value this market adds to the development process.”
