Why don’t you visit Kiambu’s Banana Hill Art Gallery and spend the day with Patrick Milenye Adoyo whose month-long exhibition, Retiring to a Passion, opens today?

Adoyo, a former head designer in the Exhibits section of National Museums of Kenya and founder and Chairman of the Lake Basin Art Group in western Kenya, is likely to not only share with you verbally but also demonstrate that there is life after retirement.
OK. What does an exhibits designer do after retirement?
He continues to work in the arts sector as a painter of colourful rural African market places and heart-warming countryside compositions with cheerful themes.
You have plenty of time to visit and converse with Adoyo whose show runs through July 29, 2016.

Still on things art, sculptor Robin Okeyo Mbera who specialises on Kisii soapstone sculptures is currently working with stones from Kendu Bay in Lake Victoria region.
“My aim is to make use of a new collection of rocks and stones from all parts of Kenya in making portable sculptures that I shall showcase in local galleries in the country between October and November 2016,” he says at his Mbera Arts Studio in Tabaka, Kisii, western Kenya.
Alright. You have to travel to Kisii, some 305.24 kilometres away from the Kenyan capital, Nairobi.Enjoy the 4-hour ride at 80km per hour.
