Air France and Royal Dutch Airline, KLM,have announced special out-of-Nairobi fare to various European and North and South American destinations.An event that provides a platform for fashion and accessory designers from Kiswahili-speaking countries to showcase their talent, market their creativity and network with clientele returns to Nairobi, for the second time, at the end of June 2018.

The Nairobi Showcase of the Dar es Salaam (Tanzania)-based Swahili Fashion Week & Awards shall be held at Hotel Intercontinental in the Kenyan capital on June 30 from 7:30 PM.

Mustafa Hassanali, fashion designer and founding director of the event that has been held annually in Dar since 2008, says the event shall feature some of East Africa’s finest fashion designers showcasing their creativity.

Swahili Fashion Week's Kenya AwardsSaying the event is aimed at emphasising to the region that fashion is an income-generating industry,Hassanali says the “culture and economic bond between Tanzania and Kenya have strengthened over the past years and thus the need for the second edition of the Nairobi Showcase.”

The inaugural Kenya chapter of the Swahili Fashion Week was held at Safaricom’s Michael Joseph Centre in Nairobi in 2012.

“As we discover what truly makes Africa beautiful, our focus is placed firmly on people who epitomise the best of the East African fashion industry, with products and services that have local taste with strong global appeal,” Hassanali says.

Royal Dutch Airline, KLM, introduces 'Dream Deals' for travellersMeanwhile, Air France and Royal Dutch Airline KLM,have announced special out-of-Nairobi fare to various European and North and South American destinations.

The fare ranges from US$915 (Madrid, Spain) to US$975 (Paris, France) and from US$1065 (New York, USA), US$1220 (Toronto, Canada) and to US$1485 (Sao Paulo, Brazil).

BuildExpo Tanzania 2018, an event that is touted as being East Africa’s mega expo On BuildIng and Construction, shall be held in Tanzania’s commercial capital, Dar es Salaam, on November 1 – 3, 2018.

This international trade exhibition, that shall be held at Diamond Jubilee Expo Centre, shall be returning to Dar for the 21st time.
