A unique multi-sport challenge that will take place at Nomads Beach Restaurant on the Kenya’s Indian Ocean coast on November 13, 2022 has been launched.
The event, dubbed 113 Shujaa Triathlon, will see Kenya host its first middle distance triathlon with participants tackling a 1.5KM Open Water Swim, 90KM Road Bike and 21KM Road Run through the beautiful Diani, Ramisi, Kinondo, Msambweni and Majoreni areas. The event will be open to individuals and teams of 2-3 people who can swim, cycle and run.

Apart from the middle distance event, the endurance sport that is organised by Team Tri Fit(TTF) of Nairobi, will also offer the following race options on the day:-
- Olympic Distance Triathlon – 1.5KM Swim, 40KM Bike and 10KM Run
- Sprint Distance Triathlon – 750m Swim, 20KM Bike and 5KM Run
The event will be open to amateur and professional triathletes from ages 17 years to 65 years with entry fee for the events as follows:-
- 113 Triathlon – Individuals Sh8,000 and Teams – Sh10,500
- Olympic Triathlon – Individuals Sh6,000/= and Teams – Sh8,500
- Sprint Triathlon – Individuals Sh4,000/= and Teams – Sh6,500

To ensure the safety of each participant, TTF says they will allocate the following slots for each race discipline:-
- 113 Triathlon – Individuals 30 slots and Teams 5 slots
- Olympic Triathlon – Individuals 20 slots and Teams 5 slots
- Sprint Triathlon – Individuals 40 slots and Teams 10 slots
“We encourage you to pull out your diary, save the date of Sunday, November 13 and start training,” TTF says, promising to “share the official registration link and provisional race manual in the coming weeks for your action.”
