The long walk to freedom and human rights will be longer and harder following the death of retired South African President and liberation icon, Nelson Mandela on December 5, 2013.
Pezhman Mosleh, the Iranian composer and musician who recorded a hypnotically melodious song in honour of Nelson R Mandela, prayed that every parent would tell their children about the great deeds of Mandela in his quest for human freedom and dignity for inspiration.
In the media release sent to ArtMatters.Info on December 7, 2013, Prof Pezhman Mosleh who is credited with having made what is touted as the first Persian song in honour of Mandela, expressed his deepest condolences to the family, friends and people of South Africa on the demise of Tata Mandela.
Pezhman Mosleh’s song, My Eternal Man, off his Whispers for Peace and Love album, was dedicated to “Nelson Mandela and the world” and aired on South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) as the world marked the 95th birthday of South Africa’s political liberation icon.
“When Mandela passed away, the long walk to freedom just became longer and harder. As my tears flow, I wish that every parent will tell their children about Mandela for inspiration,” the statement said.
