Genevieve Mpangala of Temeke beat 29 contestants to the Vodacom Miss Tanzania 2010 title on September 11, 2010 in the contest held at Mlimani City Hall. She will now represent Tanzania at the Miss world pageant to be held in in South Sanya, China, on October 30, 2010.The title comes with a brand new car and a cash prize both valued at US$30,000.

Glory Mwanga from the Northern Zone emerged the first runner-up while Consolata Lukosi of Ilala, Beatrice Premsingh of Dodoma and Pendo Sam from Higher Learning Institutions came out third, fourth and fifth, respectively.

Other winners were Flora Florence of Morogoro (Miss Talent), Britney Urassa of Temeke (Pure Scholarship), Salma Mwakalukwa of Ilala (Miss Domestic Tourism) and Consolata Lukosi from Ilala (Redds Ambassador).

Mpangala, who has worn Mustafa Hassanali throughout her journey–from Miss chang’ombe and Miss Temeke regional competition–to the coveted national title, was crowned Miss Tanzania 2010 wearing a one-shoulder Red silk Crystal embellished Gown by Tanzanian designer Mustafa Hassanali.

“I wish Genevieve all the best at the Miss World pageant and truly believe in her
that she will do Tanzania very proud,” Hassanali later said in A Press Release.

Other Miss Tanzania winners who have been crowned while wearing Exclusive Mustafa Hassanali Evening Gowns include Hoyce Temu (1999), Faraja Kotta-Nyalandu (2004), Wema Sepetu (2006), and Richa Adhia (2007).
