There can be little doubt that any organisation that ignores children in its programming has little to hope for and its future is guaranteed to be bleak. This is even more so in the creative field that calls for continuity. Nairobi’s Kuona Trust appears to have realised this and that could explain why it is holding art workshops for children as young as three years.
The workshops, that run 10.00am-1.00pm daily and target children aged 3-18 years, are in Painting; Sculpting & Molding; Card Making; Mural; Print Making; Life Drawing and Glass grouting. Participation fee per session in the workshops that end on May 4, 2014 ranges between Sh1000 and Sh2000 per child.

It is important to host exhibitions, yes. But it is more important to build the capacity of artists. Consequently, Kuona Trust is conducting a Sculpting workshop for adults facilitated by Anthony Wanjau and David Mwaniki between April 30 and May 3, 2014. Participation fee is Sh1000 per class.
Meanwhile From Fossils to 4X4s, an installation of paintings, prehistoric skulls, tropical foliage, night-lit gardens, security guards, and city monuments by Catherine Morland went on show at Kuona Trust on April 30, 2014. It ends on May 4, 2014.
The work of the London–based artist is said to be inspired by the artist’s visits to Kenya.
