An art exhibition of paintings inspired by Reggae music opens at Nairobi National Museum (NNM) on February 9, 2015.
The show, by Oliver Okoth Martin of Kisumu in western Kenya, poses questions like ‘How important is Reggae to Africa?’ and “Why is Reggae so popular in Africa?”

Reggae is said to have its roots in ancient African musical forms and since its appearance in Jamaica in the late 1960s, singers have constantly paid tribute to Africa.
African Reggae has a history of carrying strong messages on social, cultural, spiritual and political issues. But does it have any effect?
It is hoped that the Nobody Can Stop Reggae exhibition in the Creativity Gallery of NNM, will have provided possible answers to this question by the time it ends 20 days later.
