An event that was aimed at bringing together people who have trained, researched or worked in Germany or in German institutions abroad and other professionals with German and Kenyan companies and organisations has ended in Nairobi.

Dubbed 1st Kenyan-German Career Fair “Trained in GermanY‖the nine-hour career fair that comprised lectures, workshops, exhibitions and networking–gave alumni the chance to speak about career opportunities with organisations and policymakers.
German, international and Kenyan companies and institutions exhibited their products and services and spoke about career opportunities in their field.
Among the subjects tackled in panel discussions and seminars were ‘Investing in the employability of graduates in Kenya’, ‘Career in Hospitality and Management in Kenya’, ‘Career in the Energy Sector’, ‘Career in the Cultural Sector’, ‘Working in Manufacturing and Engineering’, ‘Possibilities to broaden your qualification through studying in Germany’, and ‘How to apply successfully: What to do and what not to do’.

Participants in the career fair also got the chance to have human resource-recruitment professionals take a look at their Curriculum Vitae (CV) and provide them with feedback besides taking a professional application photo free of charge!
Oh, lest I forget: The Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Kenya and Alumniportal Deutschland who organised the “Trained in GermanY” Kenya 2016 career fair ensured participants had lunch, snacks and drinks throughout the day.

The career fair was held in Radisson Blu, one of the high end hotels in the Kenyan metropolis, on June 23, 2016.
