A business event aimed at ‘enhancing the quality of urban life through resident associations’ opens in Nairobi, Kenya, on December 1, 2017.
Organised by Kenya Alliance of Resident Associations (KARA), the 2nd KARA Business Expo & Conference is expected to bring together exhibitors from government, private sector, civil society and academia to showcase their products, services and capacity to serve the urban dweller.
Henry Ochieng, Chief Executive Officer of KARA, says the three-day event to be held at Sarit Centre in Westlands district, shall comprise exhibitions, conference, free medical Screening for children and adults, discounted sales, children’s activities and the inaugural Annual Resident Associations Excellence Awards (AREA) to publicly recognise and reward ‘Resident Associations that have demonstrated exemplary performance in promoting sustainable development and access to better public services in Kenya’.

The Conference, that is expected to feature what KARA describes as distinguished speakers on urban development agenda, will provide an opportunity for players to express themselves on how urban development can be nurtured and streamlined to enhance high quality of life in Kenya.
Aidah Munano, Kenya’s Principal Secretary for State Department for Housing and Urban Development, is expected to preside over the opening ceremony of the event on December 1, 2017 from 9:00 AM.

Meanwhile, the 9th annual Tourism Investment and Business Forum for Africa (INVESTOUR), shall be held in Madrid, Spain, on January 18, 2018.
The main objective of INVESTOUR that is organised by United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), International Travel Trade Fair (FITUR) and Casa Africa is to ‘promote sustainable tourism as an economic and social development tool for Africa, while encouraging exchanges on investment and business opportunities in the region.’
