“The Kilifi Gold Triathlon is a charity-driven event and this year, the funds raised will go towards the Taylor Ashe Antivenom Foundation (TAAF). TAAF’s simple aim is to reduce the number of deaths and maiming from snakebites and to promote awareness of this extremely common event, dubbed ‘the forgotten menace’,” says Michael Owora, Team Manager of Team Tri Fit (TTF) that organises the event. “The organization seeks to ensure that more lives and livelihoods are not lost meaninglessly to this common occurrence through snake and snakebite education, training doctors to administer first response snakebite treatment, and educating the community on snake awareness and what you can do to protect yourself by ensuring harmful snakes are removed correctly and ecologically.”
Inviting participants to the event, TTF says Kilifi Gold Triathlon is an event not to be missed.
