Tanzanian Musician Dedicates Extended Play to Everyone Yearning for FreedomFrank Maston, an AfroSoul, RnB, reggae and AfroPop musician from Tanzania who defines himself as a struggling bowl of emotions and identification in a veiled society, has released an 8-song Extended Play (EP) dedicated to any one who is struggling to live up to the definition of the world in which they live.

He says he wrote and produced the songs on the EP titled Mirrored while navigating the waters of self-realization, love, rejection, loneliness, heartbreak, anxiety and social stigma.

He dedicates the songs to:

  • everyone that feels they’re different and are embracing it
  • all that struggle to fit in a society that’s blinded by who they should be, and
  • everyone that yearns for a free world where they can choose to live in ways that make them happy.

He says the album ‘was my form of therapy, kept me sane during the pandemic and had me going’.

Tanzanian Musician Dedicates Extended Play to Everyone Yearning for Freedom“I know I can never be perfect in the eyes of the world but through my mirror, I find perfection and inspiration. I look and I see her telling me to own my pride and to be unapologetic about it. That person I see in the mirror is blessed, the mirror’s voice heals the deepest and oldest of scars. I hope this EP will be liberating for everyone,” he says.
