1). To effectively lock out snakes from your home, focus on sealing physical entry points and removing the food, water and shelter that attract them
2). Regularly cut your lawn and clear weeds near the foundation
3). Store firewood, timber and heaps of rocks far away from the main house
4). Trim low-hanging tree branches and keep bushes at least 1 meter away from walls and windows
5). Inspect your foundation, doors and windows and use cement or weather stripping to seal any holes larger than a coin

6). Cover external vents, air bricks and drainage outlets with fine metal mesh (hardware cloth)
7). Ensure exterior doors close tightly to the floor without wide gaps underneath
8). Store household trash in tightly sealed, heavy-duty bins so you do not attract rats and mice

9). Fix leaking outdoor pipes and clear stagnant water that attracts frogs and rodents
10). Avoid leaving pet food outside overnight, as leftover kibble attracts rodents and the snakes that hunt them.
NB: Physical proofing and environmental management remain your best defence against snakes.
