Entrance to the Kenyatta International Conference Centre in NairobiAn annual gathering that brings together practitioners in the film, music and broadcast sectors  to network in the hope of helping  advance the media, arts, creative and cultural sectors in Kenya and Africa, returns to the Kenyan commercial and political capital, Nairobi, May 27-28, 2014.

Dubbed Broadcast Film and Music Africa Conference (BFMA), the sixth edition of the meeting that shall be held at Kenyatta International Convention Centre in the Nairobi Central Business district is expected to  offer a wide range of opportunities for stakeholders to network, dialogue and, hopefully, generate the much needed input to advance the broadcast, film and music sectors in Kenya, eastern Africa and Africa.

BFMA is a pan-African forum organised by AITEC Africa and brings together current stars, aspiring artists and scriptwriters as well as content developers to meet, deliberate and explore ideas and strategies to leverage and enhance their creative talents on the world stage through the rapidly changing digital media industry.

bfma 2014BFMA 2014 is set to feature a variety of dynamic platforms to support Africa’s emerging digital media and creative content developers and enterprises to accelerate their input to advance the broadcast, film and music industries in Africa.

The programme comprises five opportunities:

* The Kenya Filmmakers Pavilion offers free demo pods for up to 30 Kenyan film and video start-ups.
* The Animation Pavilion offers free demo pods for up to 20 animation start-ups.
* The Media Mall is an expo platform for the region’s emerging radio and TV broadcasters to network with potential partners and content providers.
* The Africa Media Business Exchange provides match-making services for creatives from across the continent seeking investment funds to pitch their ideas to investors and investment funds that are looking for opportunities in the creative sector.
* The Film and Video SME Hub is a platform for creatives, agencies facility and service providers to showcase their ideas, services and equipment to the event participants.
