Mentor and the mentored by Amimo Kala & imon TobikoA three-week exhibition dubbed ‘Mentor and the mentored‘ opens at Nairobi National Museum on April 12, 2014.

The art show is by Amimo Kala, an art tutor, and Simon Tobiko, an art student. Both artists are said to be inspired by nature, the social space around them and their early memories.

While Kala exhibits sculptures mainly in Kisii stone that are influenced by his structured life as a teacher, Tobiko, influenced by the 19th century landscape artist John Constable, explores the vast Kaputei plains of Maasailand where he roamed in his childhood as a herds-boy.

The exhibition ends on April 30, 2014 and museum entry fees apply: Sh200 (adults); Sh100 (children); Sh600 (non-citizen residents); Sh1200 (foreigners).
