John Madu's The Most Beautiful In The KingdomKenya’s Michael Soi, Cameroon’s William Tagne Njepe, Ivory Coast’s Demba Camara and Nigeria’s Tukayo Bailey and John Madu are set to exhibit their work at a leading Italian gallery from February 24, 2024.

These artists, who not only embody the influence of comics in an extraordinary way, blending Africa’s rich artistic tradition with the immediate and accessible language of cartoons, shall exhibit their creativity alongside their international counterparts at Black Liquid Art Gallery that is touted as being at the forefront of financial investments focusing on the best contemporary African artists.

Among the Western artists who shall showcase their work in the exhibition titled ‘Bam! Zap! Pow! Visual Dialogues between West and Africa in Comic Book Inspired Art’ whose curator is Antonella Pisilli are France’s Mr Brainwash, Italy’s Mimmo Rotella, Japan’s Takashi Murakami and US America’s Roy Lichtenstein.

Michael Soi's Fly EmiratesThe exhibition, according to a Press Statement from Rita Semedo, ‘promises to be an extraordinary experience that skillfully blends Western and African influences in contemporary comic book-inspired art’.

Alongside Western masters, Semedo says Black Liquid Art Gallery is celebrating African art by including the works of talented artists such as Madu, Soi, Bailey, Njepe and Camara.
